Seven weeks old today and crate training has begun in earnest! The pups are experiencing so many new things, working through our sound desensitization protocol, have had first baths, and are being exposed to clicker training.

Six weeks old today! The pups made a splash at their Puppy Party and everyone was in love! They surprised us, everyone trying each station and most completing them! This week, they’re learning how to actually take a treat from our hands, are experiencing new barriers and challenges every day. Most importantly, they are learning how to be good canine citizens!

Five weeks old today and halfway to joining their new families! The pups are working hard to get ready for their “debut” at the Puppy Culture Puppy Party this weekend. They have experienced their first barrier challenges, are exploring more open areas, and they continue to meet lots of new people. They are relying less and less on their mom while becoming more and more interested in being with people.

Four weeks old today! So much has changed: larger pen, solid food introduction, regular visitors, sound desensitization, new toys, new experiences, and more! Make sure you check our YouTube channel to see videos of the pups in action!

Three weeks old today! Everyone can hear and we have moved into the critical Socialization phase of our puppy rearing. Health is one component of our program and Puppy Culture is the second. We believe strongly that this program gives puppies the best chance to become well-rounded, making their transition to new families fairly easy.

Two weeks old today! Eyes have opened and we guessed wrong…Ruby was the first, followed by Roxanne, Sue and Lola! They are no longer little potatoes whose sole focus was to grow. Getting up on all fours is their big goal now and they can drag themselves/walk all over the whelping box. Next up…who will be the first to open their ears?

One week old today! Dottie is a great mom…all puppies have doubled their birth weight and we normally don’t see this until close to the 2-week mark. They squirm all over the box, seeking Mom’s warmth and nourishment. Eyes will open soon and we think Sue will be the first!

Please welcome our Great Songs Litter: Ruby (tri-color female), Roxanne, Lola, and A Boy Named Sue!

Dottie whelped 5 beautiful puppies between 1230-130am…4 girls and 1 boy! Everything initially seemed well and Dottie nursed all without hesitation. We were devastated when one of the girls started to struggle. She went downhill quickly and it quickly became apparent that the most humane thing to do was let her pass peacefully in our arms. This is the first puppy in 44 that we have lost and we’re still reeling. We will introduce the litter soon.

Dottie had a vet check and xray done today. She has gained 2 lbs and can no longer run and play with our pack. We’re very excited about the five puppies she’s carrying! The puppies appeared lined up and ready to go so we’re thinking Sun or Mon for the whelping day.
