8+ weeks and boy have they been busy getting ready to meet their new families!  They’ve been going on car rides, social visits, practicing their manding skills, working on loose leash walking and crate training, playing outside, and so much more.  Check out the videos on my YouTube channel and photos below to see some of these milestones.

7 weeks old today!  The days are full with grooming sessions, car rides, training sessions, continued socialization, sound habituation, learning the communication trinity, first trips to play in an outdoor pen on the patio, and more!  Check out the videos on my YouTube channel and photos below to see some of these milestones.

6 weeks old today!  What a week!  The puppies learned to take a treat the night before our Puppy Party, had their first full baths, experienced a successful Puppy Party, worked on powering up the clicker, have transitioned to a softened kibble, and started exploring outside of their weaning pen.  Check out the videos on my YouTube channel and photos below to see some of these milestones.

5 weeks old today!  The puppies are getting really good at woofing down their food.  They went on their first car ride, were carried outside to feel the sun on their faces, and worked on taking a treat.  Best of all, they are beginning to communicate with us by manding!  Check out the videos on my YouTube channel and photos below to see some of these milestones.

9.12.23
4 weeks old today!  The puppies have experienced lots of firsts this week…water bowl, food, toys, combining of litters and new living space!  Check out the videos on my YouTube channel and photos below to see some of these milestones.

3 weeks old today!  To celebrate this milestone, all of the pups were allowed in the playroom at one time.  They played a few minutes and promptly fell asleep in one huge pile!

9.3.23
The pups are growing like weeds.  Their coats are filling in and they are plump little guys!

9.1.23
We had visitors today and the pups loved every minute of their extra cuddles!

8.31.23
2 weeks old!  These puppies have all opened their eyes and they are all hearing.  Their first startle response was today so we’re moving into that criticial socialization period.  Dottie is keeping them well-fed and she is showing them lots of affection.  We keep puppy nails short so that Dottie can wean them when she thinks it’s time instead of abruptly turning them away because they are scratching her.  You’ll see in the picture gallery below that they have had their first visitors outside of my family.  You’ll also notice their new setup which includes a nest and potty area.  In the last couple of days, they have started to toddle around the whelping box and we’re really enjoying all of their antics!

8.22.23
During their first few days, we left the puppies alone for the most part.  They were weighed 2x/day and looked over from toe to tail.  Other than that, we monitored Dottie to make sure she was nursing the puppies and keeping them clean.  Towards the end of the week, the puppies were held and stroked as much as Dottie would allow.  They also received their first nail trims!

8.16.23
Meet the puppies (from top to bottom):  Disco, Tempo, DJ, and Boogie.  These pups were named by my 4.5-yro granddaughter.  The only restriction placed on her choices was that the names must be music themed.  She also gave a nod to the Nashville Soccer Club making their appearance in the championship game of the League’s Cup…Tempo the Coyote is their mascot!

8.16.23
Instead of hovering over Mom and constantly bothering the puppies, we gave her the space and time she needed to figure things out on her own.  She did and the pups are thriving!  She’s quite proud of them!

08.15.23
After laboring most of the day, Dottie gave birth to a beautiful litter of 4 boys during the afternoon, Tuesday, August 15, 2023!  My dogs rarely give birth during the day so this was a treat!
