Today’s new experience was water play on the patio!  The pups batted around balls floating in a Rubbermaid sweater box, walked through a long tray of water, and were gently splashed/squirted.  They had a ball!

We went on our first socialization outing today.  It took us 3 hours and 3 trips to take all the puppies to meet the great folk at Nashville Pet Products.  Store employees carefully sanitized before cuddling all the pups and then they were pushed in a shopping cart through the store before heading home with their special treats!

Today was a big day for the pups.  They played outside for the first time and went for their first car rides.  Yes, we use a laundry basket to transport the puppies from home to car!

Crate training is going just as we hoped.  The pups were introduced to crates with the tops off and have progressed to tops on, but doors still off.

To celebrate their 5-week birthday, all puppies got their first full baths.  I bathed while my sweet friend towel-dried and then cuddled til they were warm again.  All in all, to get all the pups bathed was a 3-hour process.  All but one loved the water and relaxed.

To celebrate their 5-week birthday, Dottie’s pups had a puppy party!  They rotated between 3 different stations with new-to-them puppy agility equipment.  The Puppy Party is just one part of the extensive program we use to raise our pups.  The program, Puppy Culture, is designed to make sure the puppies are operant, ready to form a partnership with their new families, and get the best possible start we can give them!  Make sure to check out our YouTube channel for videos from this fun event!

The puppies continue to meet people from all walks of life.  Since Mother’s Day, they have met 18 people!  Here at Hafaliana, we believe that the more trusted people the pups meet, the better they will become at feeling comfortable in a variety of situations.  Not only is it great for the puppies, but it’s the best therapy for our visitors!

The puppies get regular playtime in a large playroom filled with different challenges, toys, and textures.  They are really playing with each other now and each romp session ends in blissful naps!

Puppy mush!  The puppies stepped in it, played in it and ate it!  They are being called to meal time in a different room…the beginnings of a solid recall!  You can view that on our YouTube channel.

The puppies are being cuddled by many different people.  Before their socialization with us ends, they will have met children, people with differences, men, women, people with beards, hat-wearing young men, and people of different backgrounds.

We can sleep anywhere, in any position imaginable!

Mama is so tired, but all her hard work is paying off.  The puppies are thriving under her care.

The puppies are being handled every day.  Some love to be cuddled like a newborn, paws straight up in the air, while others are happy snuggling into your neck.  They are learning that they can trust us to handle them gently and with love!

Someone has opened their eyes for the first!  Don’t worry…even though she looks odd, her eyes will soon be fully open and she’ll look like a real puppy!

Since we live in Music City and the music found here is quite diverse, we choose music themes for our litters.  These pups have names from great characters in opera!  Meet Brunnhilde, Carmen, Rodolfo, Tristan, Figaro, and Faust!

This is Dottie’s 2nd litter and her instincts kicked in pretty quickly.  She’s keeping the pups well-fed and warm.  They are growing!

This is Callie’s 5th and final litter.  She’s an excellent mom, rarely leaving the whelping box and very attentive to her pups.

Callie was kind enough to whelp her pups before bedtime!  She has 3 white girls, 1 tri-color girl and 1 black/white boy!

After a restless day, Dottie started whelping a litter of 6 that night and continuing early Saturday.  She has 4 boys (white) and 2 tri-color girls!
